Pennsylvania Safety

The Game Commission reports 2004 was the safest hunting season in almost a century that records have been kept in Pennsylvania. Even still, there were four preventable fatal shooting accidents. "While even one incident is one too many, we are pleased that hunters continue to improve on their safety record," said Vern Ross, Game Commission executive director. "However, we must continue to strive to do better." A quarter of the state's injury accidents and one fatality in 2004 were self-inflicted.
