PETA Looks to Set SeaWorld Animals Free

Instead of seeing Shamu live and in person, you’ll have to settle for a video game if PETA gets their way.

PETA recently sent a letter to the President of InBev, the new owner of Anheuser-Busch which in turn, owns the SeaWorld parks. Apparently, the group has an unnamed donor that would like to purchase at least one of the parks so that they could set the animals free.

Lisa Wathne, a specialist with PETA indicated that in place of real animals, if the donor does get one of the parks, its animal exhibits would be replaced with virtual reality, interactive display.

PETA decided to move forward with the idea due to speculation that the Belgian company would sell off all of Busch owned theme parks after completing their purchase of Anheuser-Bush. However, the Vice President of Communications for Busch Entertainment has indicated they are not taking the PETA letter seriously.
