Oppose New Jersey Ammo Bill

New Jersey residents are urged to contact their state senators immediately to oppose A2602, a bill that seeks to regulate the distribution and possession of ammunition in the state. A2602 would criminalize the distribution and possession of ammunition by anyone who is not a licensed dealer or who does not possess a valid firearms purchaser identification card (NJFID), a certified copy of a permit to purchase a handgun, a valid permit to carry a handgun or a valid New Jersey hunting license. The bill also would ban the transfer of ammunition to anyone under 18 years old. A person who sells, transfers, purchases or possesses ammunition in violation of this bill would be guilty of a crime punishable by a fine of up to $10,000, imprisonment up to 18 months or both. This bill has already passed the state Assembly and is awaiting a hearing in the Senate. Urge your state senators to oppose this ill-conceived legislation.
