No Hunting Losses in Maryland

The Hunting Heritage Protection Act, House Bill 1086, would guarantee that the amount of public land open to hunting in Maryland would never go below current acreage. The bill also directs the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to support, promote and enhance hunting opportunities on the land it manages. The legislation, introduced by Michael H. Weir (D-Baltimore) and promoted by many hunter advocacy groups, including NSSF, passed handily in the state House and Senate and now awaits Gov. Robert Ehrlich's signature. Supporters of the bill may contact Gov. Ehrlich at (410) 974-3901.
