New York Judge At It Again

A federal judge in New York City ruled Thursday that ATF gun trace data may be used by the city in its case against gun manufacturers, the Associated Press reports. The decision is yet another by U.S. Judge Jack B. Weinstein that goes against measures passed by Congress that forbid the data from being used in civil suits. "This ruling is just the latest in a long series of decisions by Judge Weinstein in which he has blatantly disregarded and defied Congress," said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel. "This intellectually bankrupt decision further demonstrates the depth of Judge Weinstein's bias against our industry." Industry members are reviewing their options. A summary of past developments in the case is available in the Litigation Section of NSSF's Web site.
