NSSF to Have Presence at Pawnbrokers Convention

When the National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA) convenes for its annual convention, in Las Vegas, July 18-20, representatives of the National Shooting Sports Foundation will be there. “Our research shows that there are more than 7,600 holders of active FFL Type 02s,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel, referring to the FFL held by pawnbrokers. “We will be there as an exhibitor and will be meeting with officials of the NPA to solicit their support for the Don’t Lie for the Other Guy program and for their members’ attendance at the SHOT Show.” Don’t Lie for the Other Guy is the partnership program between NSSF and ATF to educate dealers on how to prevent illegal straw purchases and to raise the public’s awareness of the illegality and consequences of such an illegal purchase.
