NRA Sues New Orleans Mayor Over Gun Confiscations

The NRA reports that it has filed a motion of contempt against New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, as well as the city’s acting chief of police, for failure to comply with a temporary restraining order. That order, handed down last Sept., called for an end to all illegal gun confiscations that followed the Hurricane Katrina chaos. The NRA says its attorneys have exhausted all efforts to cooperate with the defendants. The motion filed by the NRA also includes an order that all seized firearms must be returned to their rightful owners.
