Make An Impact With Grassroots Action





Grassroots action can be the deciding factor for sportsmen’s issues. The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) mobilizes outdoorsmen to make phone calls, write letters and attend hearings on issues that can impact hunting, fishing and trapping rights. The Legislative Action Center is a great tool that helps to simplify those tasks.

Through the USSA’s Legislative Action Center, sportsmen can find their legislators, obtain contact information and compose messages to send via fax or ground mail. For some legislative issues, the USSA provides sample letters that can be used as guides.

The best way to make an impression on a legislator is to send messages using the telephone or fax machine. Telephones ringing non-stop for several days and a busy fax machine make poignant statements. But be careful with the e-mail messages!

E-mail is an excellent way to inform people about an issue, but it is not the best way to send your opinions to a legislator. With the click of a mouse, your e-mail and dozens like it can be deleted.

The USSA’s goal is to keep communication lines open between sportsmen and their elected officials. Lawmakers must be continuously educated and informed about conservation issues and how the anti-hunting movement is campaigning to end America’s outdoor heritage. Use the Legislative Action Center to help spread the word.
