Impressive Year - To Say The Least

USA Shooting has named Vincent Hancock of Eatonton, Ga., and Haley Dunn of Eddyville, Iowa, its athletes of the year. Hancock, 16, who has competed in NSSF’s Scholastic Clay Target Program, won seven medals in seven major ISSF competitions around the world. His impressive year saw gold and silver medals at World Cups and a gold medal at the World Clay Target Championships. He also set a new World Record in men’s skeet at his first World Cup in Korea and secured a spot for the U.S. in the 2008 Olympic Games in men’s skeet. Dunn, 20, also had an impressive year, setting World and Junior World records at the World Cup in Korea and winning the Championships of the Americas. Both Dunn and Hancock finished the year strong at the World Cup Finals in Dubai, where Dunn won the gold in women’s skeet and Hancock took home the silver in men’s skeet.
