Helping You Get the Most From Your Hunting Dogs

IHEA Fundraiser

The group responsible for overseeing the education of 750,000 hunters each year--the International Hunter Education Association--held its annual fundraising shoot over two days at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio last week. Support was provided by 75 teams from all walks of industry. IHEA Foundation board members really want to put this shoot on the map and are looking to reach the 100-team level for next year's shoot, June 6 and 7, 2006, at the same location. To sign up now write info@ihea.com or call 970-568-7954. IHEA is not the same group you may have known 10 years ago; it is taking big steps, with the help of its hard-working board members, NSSF and other supporters, to streamline the hunter education process via the Internet and provide materials for instructors and students on DVD and CD. Among the many auction prizes won at the shoot, IHEA Foundation past president Mark Pentecost took home the NSSF-donated Wildlife for Tomorrow-engraved .22 caliber Marlin and two-time Olympic gold medalist Kim Rhode, a guest speaker, was the winning bidder on a frisky short-hair pointer puppy. Learn more about IHEA's efforts to break down barriers to the hunter certification process and learn who the top guns were at the shoot by visiting www.ihea.com.
