House Approves Ban on Confiscation During a Disaster

The U.S. House of Representatives, with a vote of 402-23, emphatically passed legislation to bar federal officials or federally funded local law enforcement from confiscating legally owned firearms during a natural disaster, reports the Times-Picayune. The bill's sponsor, Louisiana Congressman Bobby Jindal, said he wants to avoid a repeat of occurrences during Hurricane Katrina.
