Groups Urge Stronger Conservation Tax Incentives

Leading hunting, fishing and conservation organizations, including the Wildlife Management Institute, International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, Ducks Unlimited, the Izaak Walton League of America, Pheasants Forever, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, North American Grouse Partnership, BASS/ESPN Outdoors and Trout Unlimited, delivered a letter to Congress urging conservation tax incentives and support of legislation currently under consideration. “Voluntary incentives for conservation easements are one of the best conservation tools we currently have at our disposal,” the letter stated. “Improving the utility and availability of these tools…not only makes good fiscal sense, it makes good land stewardship sense, giving us a better shot at insuring that future generations are able to enjoy the open spaces of our great American landscape.”
