Grits Gresham Honored Throughout his storied career, Grits Gresham has personified the role of an outdoor communicator. Recognizing all he has contributed in support of America’s hunting heritage and firearm freedoms, NSSF presented Gresham with a special Lifetime Achievement Award at SHOT Show. The award was presented to Gresham before a capacity crowd at the annual State of the Industry Gala. After Gresham accepted the award, NSSF president Doug Painter announced that a new and annually presented award will bear his name permanently. NSSF and the recently formed Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) will begin presenting the POMA/NSSF Grits Gresham Communicator of the Year Award in 2007.
