Fund's Misson Remains The Same





In a move to promote administrative efficiencies, NSSF and the Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Fund boards voted unanimously last week to bring the Heritage Fund under the NSSF umbrella. The six-year-old Heritage Fund led the way in helping coordinate a legal defense against municipal "junk" lawsuits and to have Congress pass the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. "The Heritage Fund will continue to exist and to aggressively pursue the industry's legal, legislative and regulatory initiatives," said Doug Painter, president of both organizations. Approximately 150 companies contribute a portion of their sales to the Heritage Fund. "These far-sighted companies recognized a significant threat to our industry and our sporting lifestyle and stepped up to defend them. The Heritage Fund has accomplished a great deal in six years, and building on these hard-won advantages is a key goal for the future."
