Florida Joins Families Afield List

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has signed a bill creating additional hunting opportunities for youngsters, another vital new law inspired by the Families Afield initiative of the National Wild Turkey Federation, U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance and NSSF. The Florida bill allows for an apprentice hunter program giving new hunters a one-year deferral of hunter education class if hunting under the watchful eye of an experienced hunter. To become fully licensed and hunt alone, hunter education coursework must be completed. The bill overwhelmingly passed the House (116-2), passed unanimously in the Senate, and was signed by Bush last month.
