Don't Lie Receives Award Don't Lie for the Other Guy, the ATF/NSSF partnership program designed to deter illegal straw purchases of firearms, has earned the Award of Excellence in the 2006 Associations Advance America Awards, sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives. The award places Don't Lie in the running to receive a Summit Award, ASAE's top recognition for association programs, in September. Don't Lie for the Other Guy works to educate firearms dealers on how to recognize and deter straw purchases and warns the public that engaging in an illegal purchase is a felony. This national program recently launched in Baltimore with the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. "Don't Lie for the Other demonstrates the firearms industry's longstanding commitment to the responsible sale and distribution of its products. We're pleased that this important education program has been recognized," said Doug Painter, president of NSSF.
