Congressmen, Industry Meet & Shoot

Representatives from the hunting and shooting community, including the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s president, Doug Painter, senior vice president and general counsel, Lawrence G. Keane, and senior vice president, Chris Dolnack, met with key members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus to hear about current and upcoming legislation impacting the outdoors. Common sense laws for gun manufacturers, the Endangered Species Act, Farm Bill reauthorization and public land access were all discussed. “Interaction between the Sportsmen’s Caucus and outdoor community is a key component in our effort to ensure a collaborative dialogue,” said Jeff Crane, president of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, which organized the event. In addition to sit-down meetings, those gathered met standing up, at the Great Congressional Shoot Out, where the Republican contingent edged the Democrats by one clay. Taking Top Gun honors was Rep. Robin Hayes (R-NC), who broke 63 of 75 clays.
