California Senate To Vote On Microstamping Bill

The California State Senate may vote before Sept. 9 on AB 352, a bill that would require all newly manufactured handguns to "microstamp" their make, model and serial number on ammunition they fire.

The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute is opposed to this legislation and urges handgun manufacturers and concerned California gun owners to contact their legislators to express opposition to the bill.

For more background, see www.saami.org. Letters of opposition can be sent to the bill's sponsor, Assembly member Paul Koretz, State Capitol, P.O. Box 942849, Sacramento, CA 94249-0042; fax: 916-319-2142.
