California Revisits Microstamping





Again this legislative session, California could become the first state to require semiautomatic handguns to include microscopic equipment for pressing an identifying mark into every bullet fired. A West Hollywood legislator has reintroduced the measure, which was defeated last year in the state senate. NSSF will once again oppose the measure using documents showing that microstamping is ineffective for crime investigators, costly for the public and needlessly burdensome for manufacturers.
