Blind Retailer Files Suit Against ATF

In February, ATF ordered Oregon firearms retailer Jay Bailey to cease firearms trade. The Mail Tribune reports that ATF asserted Bailey was licensed as a sole proprietor and had failed to obtain a new license when he incorporated his business Jay Bailey Antiques & Firearms. Bailey – who is legally blind – disagrees. Last week, he filed a lawsuit alleging interference with his right to pursue business and the denial of due process. He is seeking unspecified damages and has asked for a restraining order that would allow him to restart trade. "I honestly feel because of my eyesight they don’t think I can do my job," Bailey said. "I’m being discriminated against period."
