Benton Named ATF Deputy Directory David L. Benton, previously the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Field Operations overseeing ATF’s criminal enforcement and regulator programs, has been named the new Deputy Director of the agency. A 30-year veteran of law enforcement, Benton has served in various positions with ATF, including Assistant Director of Field Operations, Assistant Director of Liaison and Public Information, and Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Field Division.
