Bad Bills In California

Californians are being urged to contact their state legislators to oppose AB 2714 and AB 2728—two pending bills that seek to impose additional burdens on firearm and ammunition retailers and their customers. AB 2714 would prohibit ammunition sales unless the purchaser personally presents clear evidence of identity and age to the seller. AB 2728 would permit state or local agencies responsible for inspecting firearms dealers to perform inspections before a dealer first opens for business. To find your legislators, please click here and contact the member whose district you live and/or work in. Alternatively, go directly to the Assembly and Senate Web sites to send comments. Defeating ill-conceived legislation is why the California Association of Firearm Retailers was formed and why every California retailer should join.
