Americans Capture World Black Powder Rifle Championship

The National Rifle Association of America team won the fourth World Long Range Historical Rifle Championship at the April 10-15 competition held in Cape Town, South Africa. Shooters from Germany, Great Britain, South Africa, Switzerland and Belgium, in addition to the United States, competed. Dave Gullo of Ponderay, Idaho, won the individual championship for the second time. Frank Monikowski, from Hope Valley, R.I., finished second. The competition, begun in 1997, will now assume an every-four-years frequency.
