American Shooters Finish Strong

The United States won three medals on the last day of competition at the World Shooting Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, ending the two-week-long competition on a very high note. Emily Blount, 18-year-old from Tucson, Ariz., took the gold medal in junior women’s skeet. Women’s skeet team members also captured gold while setting a new world record. In the men’s 300m standard rifle event, three servicemen from Georgia combined to take the bronze medal. These performances capped the closing action, which in its last days also featured the U.S. women’s 300m prone rifle team winning the gold and setting a new world record and 18-year-old Hunter Wise, Coleman, Tex., winning individual silver and leading the U.S. junior men’s skeet team to the gold medal.
