Loon Lake Decoy Company artists have been skillfully handcrafting
life-size duck decoys following a tradition started hundreds of years ago by America’s first waterfowl hunters. Loon Lake Decoy Company’s goal is to provide you with the finest handcrafted, hand-painted wildlife sculptures and customer service available today. Loon Lake Decoy Company sculptures start as an original wood carving from solid Tupelo Gum by Master Carver Sam Nottleman. Casting molds are made from Sam’s originals, from these molds each sculpture is then hand-cast. We use a variety of casts to ensure that we capture every detail of the original handcarving. After finishing the raw sculpture, our staff of talented artists individually hand-paint each one, again making sure every detail of the original is passed on to each reproduction. When completed, a Certificate of Authenticity is applied. The Certificate of Authenticity features the limited edition number of the sculpture, insuring each will become a treasured family heirloom.

Canvasback The “Bull Can”, few if any species of duck excites the serious waterfowler more than Canvasbacks. To hear that the
“Cans” are in means tomorrow will be a great day. The Canvasback, as shown in this
life-size duck decoy, is found only in North America and is considered by many as the finest table duck. Canvasback's main breeding range is mostly central Alberta, Saskatchewan and the northern United States. A few birds breed as far north as the Alaskan interior. Canvasbacks principally winter along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States, with many birds wintering in the coastal regions of Chesapeake Bay.
