Dirk is a 10 month old intact male German Shorthair Pointer. Dirk is a very talented young prospect that is going to make someone a very nice hunting dog. He had 20+ days in the field this past fall and did very well. He pointed and retrieved wild chukar, pheasants, and quail and even had a few water retrieves on ducks in December. Dirk has a strong pointing instinct and honors naturally - he is very cautious on game and does not bust birds. He is a solid retriever. He has a very nice, affectionate temperament and does well with children and other dogs. Like most Shooting Starr dogs, Dirk is very cooperative and works to please. Dirk is well bred and his pedigree includes VC Shooting Starr's Son of a Gun UT I, Shooting Starr's Top Gun UT I, Bailey's Little Frieda NA I, UT I, Fox Ridge Frieda's Starr NA I, UT II, FC Shooting Starr's Mad Maxwell UT I and Windrow's Saddle Tramp UT II.

Dirk has a excellent start and will make someone an excellent hunting companion. He would also do very well in the NAVHDA natural ability test if you are interested in testing him.
